let me introduce myself...
My name is Rochelle and welcome to my digital diary. A destination for all things fashion, travel, mental well-being, health and lifestyle.
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, I originally began blogging in 2016 on Instagram. My page was called ‘My Healthy Obsession’, named in irony of my obsession with being healthy. I wanted to create a platform that I could share my love for health and fitness and food photography.
From my early teens and what I remember as the good old 'Tumblr days', I was always striving for the perfect model figure. It soon warped into what became a very vicious cycle with loving vs hating my body and this soon had repercussions on my mental health.
"on my 24th birthday I decided to take my health into my own hands."
I acknowledged my weaknesses and I started reaching out for help. In doing so I redefined what 'health' really meant for me. I felt the first step to changing my mentality was to change my page name. I had come to the realisation that the name I associated myself with put way too much pressure on me to be a healthy and happy individual.
I'm truely grateful for the lessons that my health blog brought me and it was the most ironic journey of all - letting go of 'my healthy obsession' allowed me to start letting go of my unhealthy behaviours too.
In November 2017 I changed my page to Rochelle Mace so I could finally be unapologetically me, just as I am. I no longer felt limited to what I could post and I started to dip my toes into lots of creative projects. I unlocked my passion for graphic design, watercolour art, creative writing, fashion and photography.
And so now, this space is a creative expression of my journey to healing mentally and physically, to finding balance, letting go of old habits and cultivating healthy ones.
I’m turning my life around one step at a time with the committed practice of meditation, yoga, gut-healing foods and various other therapies.
My goal is to add inspiration into your day to day life, to shed some light on that inner turmoil that so many of us face and discuss the deep, dark sh*t we so often hide away from. I write for the everyday woman who craves soulful conversations about emotional well-being, self-self-developement, travel and ladies who love to eat!
Thank you for following me on this journey. I promise to vulnerably share with you the lessons of my heart in hope to help you unlock the very best version of yourself, find self-love and write out your own life lessons.
